Who runs this site

This site is run by me, Harry Lancaster, from Australia. If you have any question about this notice, or about anything this site does with information, email me at hj@harrylancaster.com.au and I will answer it personally.

What this notice covers

It covers the public pages of www.harrylancaster.com.au, including the Singularity and Soul Sauce pages. Other sites of mine, such as the Singularity Portal and Market Snapshot, are not covered by this notice.

Analytics is optional

I use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 to understand how the public site is used: which pages people read, roughly where visits come from, and what kind of device and browser they use. That helps me decide what to improve.

None of it runs until you choose Accept in the notice that appears on your first visit. If you choose Reject, no analytics loads, no analytics cookies are set, and the site works exactly the same. Analytics is never required to use this site.

Analytics tells me about patterns, not people. I do not put names, email addresses or anything you type into forms into analytics, and I use no advertising or remarketing tags.

Cookies and browser storage

This site sets the following cookies:

• hl_consent stores your analytics choice so you are not asked again. It holds the choice itself and the date you made it, nothing personal. It lasts 12 months.
• _ga and cookies starting with _ga_ are set by Google Analytics, and only after you accept analytics. They let Google Analytics tell returning visits apart.

If you never make a choice, or you reject, no Google cookies are set by this site.

Google's role

Google processes the analytics data on my behalf. Google publishes its own privacy information at policies.google.com/privacy. Analytics data may be processed on Google servers outside Australia, including in the United States.

How long data is kept

Detailed analytics data is kept for a limited period and is then deleted automatically. Aggregated reporting, with no way back to an individual visit, may be kept longer.

Changing your mind

A Cookie settings control sits at the bottom left of every page. Open it and choose Reject at any time. That stops analytics immediately, survives reloads, and clears the Google Analytics cookies set for this site. You can also clear cookies for this site in your browser settings at any time.

Forms

If you send a message through a form on this site, I receive what you typed and use it only to read and reply. Form contents never go into analytics.
